Matlock Links is starting 2010 with some fantastic news..

We have moved venues to the fabulous Duke of Wellington on Wellington Road, conveniently situated on the main road into Matlock town.

The beautiful venue has stood for over 140 years, still remaining to keep the traditional feel and warm character of a cosy country inn.

Situated around some of Derbyshire's most wonderful countryside, on arrival in the early mornings, its easy to see why we love meeting here.

Along with ample free parking, this venue is more than just a meeting place, its THE meeting place to be....

TO ALL CAR OWNERS AND CAR DRIVERS: PLEASE READ

Warning!!!! Be aware of new car-jacking scheme .....

You walk across the car park, unlock your car and get inside. Then you lock all your doors, start the engine and shift or put into reverse. You look into the rear-view mirror to back out of your parking space, and you notice a piece of paper stuck to the middle of the rear window.. So, you shift the gear stick back into park or neutral, unlock your doors and jump out of your car to remove that paper, or whatever it is that is obstructing your view.

When you reach the back of your car, that is when the car-jackers appear out of nowhere, jump into your car and take off!! Your engine was running, you would have left your purse in the car, and they practically mow you down as they speed off in your car.

BE AWARE OF THIS NEW SCHEME THAT IS NOW BEING USED IN LONDON , MANCHESTER , AND MAKING ITS WAY ACROSS THE COUNTRY!!!

Just drive away, and remove the paper later! It is stuck to your window, and be thankful that you read this email.

I hope you will forward this to friends and family, especially to women! A purse contains all identification, and you certainly do NOT want someone getting your home address. They already HAVE your keys!

Matlock Links Business Club Launch Evening

We would like to say a huge thank you to all that attended the Matlock Links Xmas party last night and contributed towards making the evening a success.

Over seventy businesses joined us from across the region, most of whom can say benefited from the experience, which is fantastic news and at the end of the day what Matlock Links is all about.

Sharon from the local beauty company Treeneuk kindly offered a charity raffle, for The Ashgate Hospice and the Hartington Unit at Chesterfield Royal Hospital – for more details please visit: www.treeneuk.co.uk where there will be details of the lucky winner announced after the 18th December.

We have already recieved some amazing comments on the evening, and also some really positive feedback on the launch for Matlock Links Business Club.

From the Christmas party, we have around 5 confirmed additional businesses interested in coming along to the Matlock Links Business Club event which will be running on the 8th of January, starting at 6.45am.
